Midwifery Consultations
Individual appointments for pregnancy, birth preparation, & postnatal care.
In Paddington or via Telehealth.
Where would you like to start?
I'm pregnant
Most women begin with an Initial Antenatal Consultation, 60 minutes to review your pregnancy, discuss options, and get clear on next steps.
I've had my baby
Most women begin with a Comprehensive Postnatal Consultation, 90 minutes for feeding support, recovery, and newborn questions.
How Consultations Work
A private midwife is your primary maternity care provider from the moment you're pregnant through to eight weeks after your baby is born.
That means you don't need to wait for a GP referral, or sit in a booking clinic at 16 weeks wondering what has been happening to your body in the meantime. From early pregnancy you can have blood tests ordered and reviewed, ultrasounds arranged, medications discussed and prescribed, and someone who actually knows your situation answering your questions.
After birth, care continues. Where most women leave hospital with one or two home visits and a number to call, you have ongoing access to someone who knows your whole story for feeding, recovery, newborn care, and everything in between.
You can book once for a specific question, or see me throughout pregnancy and into the postnatal period. As much or as little as you need.

The first six weeks after birth are unlike anything else. Your body is recovering, your baby is brand new, and every day brings something you haven't navigated before.
This is a four-hour home visit for women in the first six weeks postpartum, unhurried, integrated, and built entirely around what you need on the day.
Midwifery care is care of the woman. That means your recovery, your body, your emotional experience, and your transition into motherhood are at the centre, not an afterthought to newborn checks.
We might work through feeding in depth, go through your baby's cues and what they're telling you, talk through your recovery, make a plan for the weeks ahead, or simply have the time and space to ask every question that has been forming since you came home. It is led by you.
The art of learning to mother ie. reading your baby, responding to them, trusting yourself, is something that unfolds with time, support, and someone alongside you who knows what they're looking at. That is what this visit is for.
You might book this if you:
Are in the first six weeks postpartum and want proper, unhurried support at home
Have had a caesarean or complex birth and need more than a standard postnatal check
Have a baby with a tongue tie, latch difficulty, or a complex feeding plan
Are navigating a difficult recovery and want someone who will actually assess and support you
Want someone to help you find your feet as a mother, not just check boxes
Are feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or like you need more than the standard system offers
Are pregnant and want to plan ahead for integrated postnatal support after your birth (these can be pre-organised in pregnancy)

How it works:
A telehealth or in person consultation happens before the visit to understand your priorities, your birth, and what will be most useful on the day. This means the four hours go straight to the work rather than establishing context from scratch.
Women who have seen me two or more times during pregnancy are given priority booking. Postpartum bookings are available subject to availability. If you are pregnant and would like to plan this visit, it can be organised in advance.
Birth Review & Debrief
-
90 minutes $395
Medicare rebates may apply during pregnancy until 7 weeks postpartum.
By appointment only
__________________
Some births leave questions. What happened, why, what it means and what it might mean next time.
A birth debrief is a 90 minute appointment to go through your birth experience with someone who has clinical knowledge and no stake in defending what happened. We review the clinical details, fill in the gaps, and make sense of what you are carrying.
This is not therapy and it is not a complaints process. It is a clinical conversation that is thorough, honest, and led by what you need to understand.

You might book this if you:
Are postpartum and still trying to make sense of your birth
Are pregnant again and want to understand your previous birth before this one
Were told everything was fine but it didn't feel fine
Have specific questions that never got answered
Want to know what your birth history means for your options going forward
Following the session, referrals may be recommended where appropriate. For example: psychology, pelvic floor physiotherapy, obstetric review, or other support.
This appointment is particularly useful for women planning a VBAC who want to understand their previous caesarean before preparing for this birth.
