I'm Jen. I'm a Registered and Endorsed Midwife. I can order your tests, prescribe, and refer you to a specialist with a referral Medicare recognises.
Individual appointments for pregnancy, birth preparation and the weeks after birth. No GP referral, and no waiting list. In clinic in Paddington, at home across the eastern suburbs and lower Blue Mountains, and online right across Australia.

A midwife is the specialist in normal pregnancy, birth and the weeks after. For most pregnancies, most of the time, that's the whole of the care required, with an obstetrician or paediatrician brought in if more is needed.
Seeing me doesn't mean leaving the care you already have. Plenty of women see me alongside a public hospital booking, a private obstetrician, or a GP. Others come to me first, before they've decided where the rest of their care will happen. Both work.
You can book once, for one particular question, or see me through the whole pregnancy and into the early weeks with your baby. As much or as little as you need.
I'm not attending births at the moment. Your birth care sits with your hospital, obstetrician or birth midwife, and I work alongside them.

Practical information
Medicare
Most appointments attract a rebate. You pay at your appointment and I claim your rebate on the spot, usually in your account the next working day. Fees and rebates are listed on each page.
Where
Clinic appointments are at The Gathering Space, Shop 2 / 160 Flinders Street, Paddington. Home visits are generally available across the eastern suburbs, inner Sydney, and the lower Blue Mountains. Telehealth is available anywhere in Australia.
Booking
Appointments are booked online. Home visits and some specialty appointments are arranged by email, since they need a conversation first.
No referral needed
You don't need a GP referral, and you don't need to be an existing patient.

Who are these appointments for?
Any woman moving through pregnancy, birth preparation or the weeks after birth who wants individual, unhurried midwifery care. You don't need a referral and you don't need to be an existing patient.
Do you attend births?
Not at the moment. Your birth care sits with your hospital, obstetrician or birth midwife. Everything before and after the birth, I can hold.
Can I book once, or do I have to commit to ongoing care?
Once is completely fine, and common. Plenty of women see me for a second opinion, one particular question, or a conversation before a decision.
Do these appointments attract a Medicare rebate?
Most do. Figures are listed on each page. You'll need a Medicare card and your bank details registered with Medicare for the rebate to go straight into your account.
Are telehealth appointments as good?
For most of what happens in an appointment, yes. Where a physical assessment matters, you'll want to be in the room. Telehealth rebates work slightly differently, and the details are on each page.
Can my partner come?
Yes, and it's often useful, particularly for birth planning or a debrief.
Is this suitable if I'm feeling anxious or overwhelmed?
Yes. A lot of what I do is helping women make sense of information that has arrived faster than anyone could absorb it. If you need more than midwifery care can offer, I'll say so and help you find it.

Are these appointments suitable if I'm planning a hospital birth?
Yes. Most of the women I see are birthing in hospital.
