In-Home Postnatal Care

You feel it in your gut, how much this time matters, but it rarely stays still long enough to get your footing. What you need isn't more opinions. It's time, and someone steady, to work out what's true for you and your baby.

In your home, built entirely around what you need on the day. $800 for four unhurried hours. Long enough to matter. No Medicare rebate on the visit itself.

I'm Jen, a Registered and Endorsed Midwife. I've been caring for women in birth and motherhood since 2007.

What this visit is

Midwifery care is care of the woman. That means your recovery, your body, your emotional experience, and your transition into motherhood are at the centre, not an afterthought to newborn checks.

We might work through feeding in depth, go through your baby's cues and what they're telling you, talk through your recovery, make a plan for the weeks ahead, or simply have the time and space to ask every question that has been forming since you came home. It's led by you.

There's room here for the things that are hard to say out loud, and reassurance about what's already working, not just a list of what to fix. Everything I offer is evidence-based, not opinion or whatever's trending. You're not handing anything over. You're being supported to find your own way.

Four hours is long enough to actually watch a whole feed and sleep cycle unfold, rather than guessing from a snapshot. No worrying about the timing, no rushing to fit everything in before someone has to leave. There's room to notice the rhythm you and your baby are settling into together.

The art of learning to mother, reading your baby, responding to them, trusting yourself, unfolds with time, support, and someone alongside you who knows what they're looking at. That's what this visit is for.

You might book this if you

  • Had a caesarean or a complex birth, and recovery is asking more of you than expected
  • Are navigating feeding difficulties, like increasing your supply, feeding pain, or anything that needs real time to work through.
  • Want a soft landing in the first weeks home, or you're planning ahead in pregnancy for exactly that

How it works

Women who have seen me two or more times during pregnancy get priority booking. Postpartum bookings are available subject to availability. If you're pregnant and want to plan this visit ahead of time, it can be arranged in advance.

This is a home visit only. There's no video option for this appointment, since the work is hands-on.

$800 includes travel. No separate travel surcharge applies.

If you're already seeing me, the planning appointment isn't needed, we already have the context. It's only for women who are new to my practice, kept deliberately focused on what your four hours should cover, not a full history-taking session.

Ready to arrange your visit?

Not managing on your own. Not being told what to do. Just steady, knowledgeable company for a real portion of your day, so you can find your own way with someone trustworthy beside you, and walk away knowing what's working, what to watch for, and that you and your baby are doing just fine.

No referral needed. If you're not sure this is the right fit, email first and we'll work it out together.

Already seeing me? No need to book separately, just raise it at your next appointment or email below.
