Birth education built around your situation.
Sometimes a group works beautifully. Sometimes what you need is narrower, or deeper, or scheduled around a life that doesn't fit a Sunday.
And sometimes it's because there's something specific you'd rather not raise in a room full of people. A previous birth. A decision that's already been made for you. A question you're not sure you're allowed to ask.
This is the same preparation, one to one. We start from where you actually are, and spend the time on what's genuinely useful to you.
I'm Jen, a Private Midwife in Sydney, and I've been teaching birth education since 2007. The questions women bring one to one are almost never the ones covered in a standard class.
See the options →You might book this if
- The workshop dates don't work with your timing
- You want to go deep on one thing rather than cover everything
- Your situation is specific enough that general preparation misses it
- You'd rather talk properly than sit in a group
- You're preparing for something the workshops don't cover
- Your support person needs their own preparation
Two ways to do it
Full Preparation
Complete birth preparation, taken either as two three-hour sessions with time between them to sit with what came up, or as one full day from 10 to 4.
Covers labour physiology and what to expect, decision-making and how to hold your ground in conversations with your care team, your support person's role, comfort and coping, and the early postpartum weeks. Your support person attends throughout.
Book Full PreparationSingle Session
One focused session on what matters most to you right now.
Some women use this as a refresher for a second or third baby. Others bring one specific thing: an induction that's been recommended, a decision that needs making, or a previous birth shaping how this one feels.

Medicare rebates don't apply to birth education. Rebates are for clinical midwifery consultations, which you can book separately if you'd like both.
Something else in mind?
If neither of these is quite right, tell me what you're after. I build education around specific needs regularly, and it's usually a short conversation to work out what would actually help.

Walking in prepared
Preparation isn't about controlling what happens. It's about walking in understanding your options, knowing what you want, and having someone in the room who can say it out loud with you.
